Tis The Season To Be Jolly

There is always a buzz of excitement in the air as December descends across the Tollers offices and everyone gets into the Christmas spirit.

The first week of December saw Tollers welcome in the festive season with our charity of the year, MK Act, very much in mind.

Tollers are proud to support MK Act, a Charity which provides a wide variety of services to families experiencing domestic abuse in the Milton Keynes area.  They work with over 100 families every day and have been providing safe emergency accommodation for women and their children escaping domestic violence for over 40 years.

On your marks, get set, BAKE!

On Monday 4th December the office kitchens were full of festive baked goods for the first annual Christmas Bake off and Bake Sale. Fiona Nash, Matthew Crosse, Barry Rogers, Tom Kings and Katie Herrod judged the entries and a winner was announced for each office.  The standard of bakes was extremely high, who knew we had so many talented bakers across the Tollers ranks… It was a hard fought battle but eventually the judges selected their winners. Jane Owers took the coveted Northampton first place title with her festive cupcakes, Marion Woods took the Corby crown with her chocolate cheesecake, Amanda Margrave took the Stevenage/Kempston office trophy with her coffee cake and Kassilyn Carry’s gingerbread house Christmas cake saw her leap ahead of the competition to win first place in the Milton Keynes office.

Tis The Season To Be Jolly

Once the judges had ruminated and cogitated over the delicious wares and the winners had been announced, the cakes went on general sale to raise funds for MK Act and fill the very grumbly tums of the other Tollers staff who had waited patiently for the judging to finish, and so our December fundraising began.

Party time

Friday 8th December was a night for glitz and glamour, when staff had the opportunity to put on their glad rags and dance the night away at the Tollers Christmas Party.  This year’s event was held at Whittlebury Hall where they were transported to ‘Christmas in New York’ full of festive cheer, good food and fabulous live entertainment!

A tradition at the Christmas party is to hold a raffle to raise vital funds for our chosen charity and in the spirit of the ‘season for giving’ the staff were keen to buy tickets for the raffle which saw some amazing prizes up for grabs, including a helicopter ride, Silverstone tickets, dinner for two, an overnight stay at Whittlebury and much much more…

The evening also saw Kassilyn Carry presented with the Tollers ‘Baker of the Year’ trophy and a good night was had by all.

The partners at Tollers would like to thank all those who donated prizes and, of course, our staff for their continued support. Raffle prizes were kindly donated by Whittlebury HallSilverstone Circuits Limited, the Britannia Public HouseTollersPlanet Ice Milton KeynesMK DonsDaytona Motorsport Milton KeynesKatherine Richmond & Blue Cube Technology Solutions.

The evening raised over £500 for our charity of the year, MK Act.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2018 from everyone at Tollers.
