Spreading Christmas Cheer
At this time of year when people are spending cosy evenings with their family celebrating the festive season, Tollers took time to remember the Elderly who would be spending Christmas in hospital and who may not necessary have family around who would visit or give them a gift.
At the beginning of December Tollers heard about the Northampton General Hospital appeal for Christmas gifts, in particular gifts for the Elderly patients. Tollers has a large Elderly and Vulnerable Client Department, who specialise in providing advice regarding the rights of Elderly and Vulnerable people, so this appeal resonated with several employees.
Managing Partner Duncan Nicholson and Karon Walton the Head of Elderly and Vulnerable Unit delivered the gifts to The NGH on Friday 11th December – in order that the gifts could be checked and wrapped ready for Christmas Day.
The hospital provided some tips regarding the type of gift that would be appreciated, everything from lip balms, foot lotions and moisturisers to chocolate, slipper socks, scarves, cardi’s and jumpers and a plethora of things in-between.
A similar appeal was launched by Milton Keynes Hospital which encouraged staff from the Tollers MK office to provide gifts that could be taken to their local hospital.
Tollers would like to thank all of the staff that donated gifts for taking the time to help make an elderly persons stay in hospital a little brighter on Christmas morning.
Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you all.
