Another Marathon Notch For Tollers Managing Partner

Date Added 18.08.15

Tollers Managing Partner Duncan Nicholson added another notch to his marathon belt by running in the Edinburgh marathon on 31st May.  Duncan has been participating in marathons for the last few years and this is the second time he has run in Edinburgh.

Duncan has been running for several years to raise money for Children with Cancer, after suffering from childhood cancer, he understands the vital work that charities do to raise awareness and fund research.

The Edinburgh Running Festival is held over a weekend with several different activities including a 5K and 10K race, junior races, a ½ marathon and a team relay, better known as the Hairy Haggis and the event culminates with a full marathon being run on the final day.  This year saw over 25,000 people compete over the 2 days with over 7,000 participating in the full 26.2 mile road race.

The day started like many normal Edinburgh days, overcast and dull the city was buzzing as the runners made their way to the various start points around the London Road area of Edinburgh.

Duncan ran a personal Edinburgh best and completed the race in 3hrs 35 mins, he said “Edinburgh is such a great race, the atmosphere is fantastic as are the people and you get to see some landmark sights as you run – it’s an interesting race as it’s so flat, but the headwinds can slow you down.  I am really delighted to have a new Edinburgh personal best and will definitely be running the event again next year”.

Tollers LLP are rightly proud of their very own ‘Marathon Man’ and are looking forward to hearing all about Duncan’s next marathon challenge, where he will run on behalf of the SIA (Spinal Injuries Associate – Tollers chosen charity for 2015) in the Berlin Marathon later this year.
