Barry joined Tollers in 1972, qualified as both a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and a Solicitor in 1981. He became a partner in the practice in 1986.
Barry is now the head of Tollers Wills, Tax and Estate Planning team and also Head of the private client division of the firm which has for many years been one of the leading private client teams in the area.
Barry is also a Notary Public. A Notary Public is a highly qualified lawyer being a member of the oldest branch of the legal profession. Notaries are appointed by the Court of Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The primary function of a Notary is the authentication and certification of signatures, authority and capacity relating to documents for use outside the UK. They also have the powers of a Commissioner for Oaths. Notaries act on behalf of both private individuals and businesses involved in international trade.

Barry is a trustee of numerous personal trusts and is attorney/deputy for many people who lack capacity to administer their affairs due to illness of infirmity.
Barry is chairman of the board of trustees of The Margaret Giffen Charitable Trust.
Outside of the office, Barry is a member of the Rotary Club of Kettering Huxloe and a local Freemason. He enjoys keeping fit and is a regular gym attender. He also enjoys spending time with his family in particular his grandchildren.
