Legal Talk The Importance Of Making A Will And Power Of Attorney
Tonina Ashby of Tollers’ Wills and Probate team is proud to offer free legal advice talks to local organisations, groups and charities in the Milton Keynes area. In particular, Tollers are looking to raise awareness about the importance of making a Will and Power of Attorney and the consequences of not doing so.
In February, Tonina attended community support and social groups including Breathe Easy, a British Lung Foundation Support Group in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
Breathe Easy holds meetings on the third Wednesday of every month (with the exception of August) from 2-4pm at Whaddon Medical Centre in Bletchley and welcomes new members, visitors and speakers on a range of subjects.
Tonina said of the talks: “My talks are intended to be informal and informative and offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions both in an open forum and on a one-to-one basis. I tend to cover issues such as making a Will and getting Power of Attorney as well as Inheritance Tax, Care and general jargon busting for common questions such as what is Probate ?”
“My recent talks have been focussed on tackling some of the misconceptions and misunderstandings people may have heard through word of mouth or the internet about the Power of Attorney, making a Will and applying for Probate. I also try to point out and address some of the risks which can leave people unprotected without the right legal documents, advice and assistance.”
Tonina is scheduled to attend further talks throughout Milton Keynes this year (2017) but also has some availability for other speaking opportunities both this year and for 2018. If you feel that your local social group, workplace, charity or other organisation would benefit from receiving free legal advice from a trusted professional, please do not hesitate to Talk to Tollers.
