Training Contract Process

Start early – When sending in your application for a training contract, it’s always best to start early. Any training contract application should be seen as a project in its own right, so make sure you give it the care and attention it requires.

Send in your application – All submissions for training contracts at Tollers should be made through our online application form here.

The closing date is the 31st of July, two years in advance of the year you would like to start training with Tollers.  Therefore for 2022 applications the closing date is 31st July 2020.

You will receive acknowledgement of your application via email. If you are successful you will be invited to attend an interview mid to late August of the same year you applied. (For example, if you applied in July 2019 your interview/ assessment day will be held in late August of 2019).

The Assessment day will either be a full morning or a full afternoon and will consist of:

  • A one to one interview with two partners;
  • A written exercise;
  • A 15 minute presentation;
  • Lunch – This is your opportunity to get to know current partners and other members of Tollers who will be in attendance and ask them questions about what life is like as a Trainee solicitor at Tollers.

If you are successful, you will be made an offer to start your training contract. It is important to note, that you must make sure you have competed your LPC before you start your training contract. In addition, if you did not study law at university you must have completed your GDL as well as your LPC before your training contract commences.

On the first day of your training contract, you will be invited to our Northampton Office for induction training and a chance to meet the team.
