Commercial Contracts

Commercial contracts maintain, regulate and document business relationships.

When drafting contracts with partners, suppliers, customers or distributors, it is essential that you properly protect your business interests in case of disputes, while at the same time ensuring that any contract or agreement enables everyone to do business efficiently and effectively.

Commercial contracts come in all shapes and sizes. Some types of contract are discussed separately but our expertise allows us to produce documentation to cover your requirements whatever form they may take. If what you require does not fall neatly within any existing category of an agreement, we can produce bespoke agreements for you that fulfil your business requirements.

Commercial Contract Law

When drafting commercial contracts, we will always consider issues which apply generally to all commercial arrangements such as data protection and competition law. Part of our role is risk management and we will always seek to ensure that your commercial contracts protect you against legal risks which may affect you.

If you are provided with an agreement by another party and are unsure about the terms and how they might affect you then we are always happy to review agreements for you and to report on key risks. Following our report, we can work with you to negotiate the best terms possible to achieve a successful working relationship with the other party.

Trading Internationally

If you are trading internationally, we will ensure that your documentation protects you in the relevant overseas territory. We have a network of international lawyers that we work with and who we can call upon to give advice on local laws that may affect your business relationship.

B2B and B2C

Commercial contracts may relate to the business to consumer (B2C) market as well as business to business (B2B). If this is the case, we will ensure that your contracts reflect all the protections afforded to consumers as a matter of law and will advise you in relation to the additional obligations and liabilities that you will need to accept in this market place.
