Nicola obtained a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Politics and Philosophy and spent four years working for the Civil Service before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. She trained at Tollers before qualifying into the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team.
Nicola obtained the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICEAW) Certificate in Insolvency in 2013 and is currently studying for the Joint Insolvency Examination Boards. She is a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) and ICEAW.
Nicola undertakes most areas of corporate and personal insolvency, specialising in contentious matters and is regularly instructed on cases involving antecedent transactions, misfeasance, and wrongful trading.
She also undertakes a wide variety of litigation work on behalf of insolvency practitioners, corporates and individuals, which includes debt recovery, claims for breach of contract, shareholder disputes and professional negligence claims.
Her recent work includes the compulsory liquidation and strike off of a substantial number of group companies forming part of a well known high street chain, the successful settlement, at Mediation, of two claims brought on behalf of a Liquidator and an Administrator in a wrongful trading action and a preference claim and the defence of an unfair prejudice petition.
