Tollers has a long history of developing the careers of its staff both in fee earning and support roles. Each year the firm provides a number of training contracts for law graduates which has provided a stream of 'home grown' talent to the firm over the years. Many such trainees have advanced through the firm into senior fee earning roles and even membership.
In addition Tollers supports paralegal development through such routes as ILEX, FILEX and Licensed Conveyancers.
For support staff who maybe start in a secretarial or administrative capacity there are also established routes to develop into a fee earning role either as a solicitor or a paralegal. Its really up to the aptitude, motivation and hard work of the individual. Whilst its not possible to support every application, Tollers endeavours to assist all applicants with a desire to grow and develop.
Tollers operates a 'Competency Framework' which provides clear guidelines to fee earning staff at every stage of their career with Tollers and which defines the firm's expectations to demonstrate the competencies required to advance to the next level.
For example a newly qualified solicitor can expect to advance to Associate, Senior Associate, Partner and Member subject to meeting the requirements of the Competency Framework although the step into membership is not guaranteed.
