PERSONAL LEGAL INJURY CLAIMS

Hit and Run Car/Bike Accidents

You can still claim compensation for injury and loss suffered even if you are the victim of a Hit & Run accident.

The identity of the offending vehicle must be confirmed and in cases where property damage is being claimed, the police must have been informed and the claim itself has to be submitted within nine months of the accident date.

Due to the unique nature of the Untraced Drivers Agreement, that is to say, there is no defendant and the case therefore cannot be taken to court, the MIB are obliged to investigate claims and determine the amount of any compensation, at its own cost.  Investigations may take longer than an Insurer would normally take, so if you are making a claim through them, you should bear this in mind.

We can help with these types of claims. We have particular expertise in this area - having 3 people in our RTA Claims team who used to work for the MIB.
