On Saturday 12th November, Tollers Managing Partner Duncan Nicholson attended Kettering Cycle Clubs annual awards ceremony held at the Gurkha’s restaurant in Desborough. The event is a chance for the club to acknowledge all the hard work and the achievements of both support members and cyclists.
This is the third year that Tollers have sponsored the clubs Ladies Cycling league. It was a hotly contested category and this year saw Sue Rust winning first place in the league – Sue was up against stiff competition from 2014 winner Jennifer Moffat who achieved 2nd place, as well as the younger generation of lady cyclists such as Maria Gent (3rd place) who is moving from the junior league to the ladies league. Sue has had an amazing cycling year, achieving many personal bests including joining the elite group of riders who rode 25 miles in under an hour, as well as beating the club’s ladies 10mile and 50mile records this year.
Duncan said “The Firm is delighted to sponsor the Kettering ladies league again for the third year in a row. We have several members of staff who participate in various sporting clubs across the county and the Firm are pleased to be able to continue to support the ladies of Kettering cycle club in their endeavours”.
The cycle club has a wide membership of children, adults and families and runs a variety of events throughout the year, from club runs to time trial events and road races. They also have the youth development division, Kettering Cyclones which teaches children of all ages bike handling skills and supports youngsters who want to have a go at cycling competitively. if you would like to know more about the club go to www.ketteringcyclingclub.co.uk
Tollers look forward to continuing our association with Kettering Cycle Club and to sponsoring the Ladies league in 2017.
