What is Medical Negligence?
If you or a loved one have suffered an injury whilst under the care of a medical practitioner (doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, dentist, radiographer, midwife etc.) that does not resolve quickly then we may be able to assist you by investigating and, if appropriate, pursuing a claim for compensation for medical negligence.
What do Tollers do after the initial free conversation?
If we can help you then we first sort out, how our work, on your behalf, can be funded. In most cases we operate on a 'No Win No Fee' basis which means you pay nothing if the claim is unsuccessful. Then, when everything is in place we can start to investigate your potential claim.
Medical negligence is more common than many people think 11,945 claims for medical negligence were received by the NHS Litigation Authority in 2013/14.
Each settlement for medical negligence will vary depending on severity. A few examples of settlements are:
- £200k - A punctured neighbouring organ during surgery
- £125k - A medical tool left behind in body after surgery
- £6m - Cerebral Palsy caused by birth injury
