Maximum limit for Financial Ombudsman compensation increased to £150,000

06/01/2012

Generally, complaints are dealt with on paper without the need for a hearing as would be the case with Court proceedings.  Also, unlike an unsuccessful claim in the Courts, you are not liable for the financial institution’s legal costs in the event that your complaint is rejected.

The increase in the cap to £150,000 widens the number of complaints that may be suitable for consideration by the FOS.

We are representing clients on a flexible fee basis to assist in putting their complaints together including in relation to claims for the mis-selling of Payment Protection Insurance and poor investment advice.  For further information please contact Ian Carson on 01908 306934 or by email ian.carson@tollers.co.uk
