Stunning Team wins Tollers Quiz Night

12/09/2011

The Tollers Trusts and Estates Department held a charity quiz night on Wednesday 7 September 2011 in aid of Age UK, the charity that Tollers have chosen to support this year. The event was held at Franklins Gardens, home to the Northampton Saints Rugby Team and was attended by 16 teams comprising of Financial Advisors, Home Care specialists, Surveyors and Accountants.

The quiz lasted for 8 rounds, the titles of which included Whiffy Wonders, Train Spotting , Cryptic Bands and the staple rounds of Sports and Books. Rather than the usual pictures round, the quiz master, Ruth Markham, decided to include a bonus round of 41 flags and the teams had to guess the country to which each flag related.

The competition was fierce and several half marks had to be awarded in order to restore calm amongst the competitors. Only one team, who shall remain nameless, failed to achieve any marks in one round.

After 2 hours of quizzing the winning team were declared as the ‘Cunning Stunts’, one of the two teams entered by Cobley Desborough Accountants with an overall score of 64 points.

The evening, which included a raffle of donated prizes, raised over £1,000 for Age UK and Liam Condron, from Age UK, was overwhelmed by the support that the attendees had shown.

The Tollers team are already looking forward to staging next year’s event !
