Tollers joins national Wills register
20/08/2009
Tollers is promoting the Certainty.co.uk register in this area, to help speed up the legal process after a death in the family. “New research reveals two thirds of people surveyed don’t know the location of their parents’ will,” explained solicitor Barry Rogers.
“That makes it very difficult for them to start the process of dealing with the affairs of the person who has died.
“It can cause pain for the whole family. If a will is never found it can also significantly affect the level of inheritance.
He added: “The sooner a will can be found and dealt with properly, the sooner the family can start to deal with their loss.
“This is why we are promoting Certainty.co.uk across Northamptonshire. It’s a very simple but powerful way to remove the pain caused by missing wills.”
Anyone who has a will written should ensure it is registered on the database atwww.certainty.co.uk
In the event of their death, an authorised solicitor can then access the will – even if they have changed address.
The idea of a national will register is not new. But Certainty.co.uk is the first that has successfully launched, thanks to a £1.5 million investment in technology.
