Mark May confirmed as a London 2012 Olympic Torchbearer

Tollers Solicitors is proud to announce that employee Mark May will be running as a Torchbearer in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Mark was nominated through the Lloyds TSB/Bank of Scotland campaign. He has over the past couple of years run several Marathons including London, Paris and New York raising several thousand pounds in sponsorship money along the way. He also in his spare time helps Cynthia Spencer Hospice with marketing and IT, and tries to provide them with the tools they need to fundraise.

Mark May will be running in Oakham on 3rd July 2012.  Mark May said "I feel very honoured to be an Olympic Torch Bearer, I was amazed that I was nominated and completely speechless that I was selected! For many of you that know me that is quite something."

Mark was nominated through Lloyds TSB/Bank of Scotland, Presenting Partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Lloyds TSB/Bank of Scotland Commercial Regional Director added:

We are proud to be bringing the excitement of the Olympic Torch Relay to the heart of the community and we are looking forward to seeing each and every one of our Torchbearers representing the work they do in their local community on the Relay this summer.”

The 70 day Olympic Torch Relay will start at Land’s End, Cornwall on the morning of 19 May 2012. On leaving Land’s End, the Olympic Flame will travel an estimated 8,000 miles around the UK giving thousands of communities and individuals their moment to shine as the Olympic Flame comes to a place near them. The Olympic Flame will arrive at the Olympic Stadium on 27 July 2012 for the lighting of the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony, signifying the official start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
