Have your say: HSE consults on changes to RIDDOR time limits

25/02/2011

The proposals are that RIDDOR reports to the HSE or the employer's Local Authority on employees absent from work after a reportable incident or injury should be submitted after seven days, rather than the current three.

Given that employees expected to be off work for more than a week must obtain a fit note from their GP, the proposal would mean that all employees with a reportable injury will have been seen by a GP before returning to work.

Responses must be made before 9 May 2011.
