Some employers see the proposition of redundancy as an opportunity to get rid of dead wood, in other words, terminating the services of employees not considered to be of value to the business. This is a very common employment mistake. There is a critical element to fair redundancy procedure, the obligation upon an employer to seek suitable alternative employment prior to effecting redundancy.
